It takes an expedition to develop a leader and unite a team.

Leading Edge programs are facilitated expeditions to develop leadership skills, capacity and capability in existing and emerging leaders.

A path to future-focused leadership

Our Leading Edge Expedition is not just a training activity; it's a philosophy aimed at nurturing leaders for the future. Centred on personal development, it empowers leaders to evolve individually, as team members, and as effective contributors to an organization's growth.

This continuous improvement journey encompasses personal coaching, blended learning, team experiences, and impactful expeditions anchored by inspiring and insightful 'metadventure' stories of success.

Each expedition is delivered across multiple venues to suit the size and location of your company. A full briefing session ensures each program is customised and designed to meet your specific leadership objectives and needs.

The most unique leadership program

In a landscape filled with traditional leadership development approaches that often fall short and are not transferrable back in the workplace, we're pioneering a revolution in leadership development.

We believe in evolution beyond training, ensuring leaders are not only equipped for present challenges but are also prepared for future ones.

Anchored by the research into leadership and teams facing the limits of human endurance by the Syncretics Group, we are the only partners and licenced providers in Australia of the “Leading Edge” program.

The dramatic account of Shackleton’s Antarctic adventure and leadership lessons for success is the thread throughout the program. We share the critical strategies that enable leaders and teams to reach their greatest potential in any challenging environment - at work or outside it.

The Leading Edge Journey

  • Invite

MONTH 1: Select & invite your leaders to participate in the expedition. Your ‘Rising Stars’ are prime candidates to participate. Your nomination demonstrates your dedication to their development. Their acceptance builds ownership and a commitment to the program.

  • Pre-work

MONTH 2: All participants must complete pre-work tasks before the launch to form a solid foundation for the work ahead, including diagnostics, time management and planning models. It is also an opportunity for personal reflection before the journey starts.

  • Launch

MONTH 3: The launch, or "Kick Off" event, brings all participants together to meet one another and their guides over a meal and drinks. With its leadership insights, the Shackleton "Leadership At The Edge" story forms the inspirational starting point. We share the complete program in greater detail.

  • Residential 1

MONTH 4: The 2-day residential program covers 'leadership generics' & includes examining the functional preferences of participants. Personal Team Management Profiles are introduced. Experiential activity & other key learning modules unite the team for the shared journey.

  • Residential 2

MONTH 5: The 2-day residential program includes more experiential activities and covers 'leadership specifics'. We introduce the 360-degree Linking Leader Profile to assess the gap between what should occur and what does occur. Personal developmental plans are prepared and actioned.

  • Coaching

ONGOING: After Residential 2, a personal coaching program commences for all participants. Face to face where possible, otherwise online. Intent on addressing personal challenges, the facilitators offer further support, insights and accountability.

  • Resilience

MONTH 6: The one-day resilience workshop explores the techniques for developing resilience in their leadership, identifying, developing and proactively equipping participants with the skills, tools, and mindset to cope with any challenging environment.

  • Project

MONTH 7: The one-day workshop covers the concepts, tools and strategies for effective design and delivery of a Strategic Change project within the company in which they will use and test their new leadership skills.

  • Implementation

MONTH 8: Participants will apply their skills to leading the 8-week project for effective and positive change that supports the business direction and strategy. Personal coaching continues to support participants.

  • Celebration

MONTH 9: The conclusion of the expedition is a special half-day celebration. Participants will present their project and explain its impact on the business to the company executive. Drinks & and dinner are shared.
